Dahlia Tuber Shipping Policy

TUBER SALE

Welcome to Little Bit Farm’s tuber sale beginning on January 17, 2024!

The tubers are sold as a single tuber with a visible eye. We do not sell tuber clumps. We pre-sprout the tubers in the spring before shipping.

There are no pre-orders. Tubers will be shipped in the order they are received. They will ship in April and May depending on where you live.

There is one local pickup date at the farm on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9am to 12pm. We are a small farm and May is a busy month for us so we kindly ask that you pickup during this date and time. There are no exceptions for this policy.

SHIPPING

We ship our tubers within the continental US via USPS Priority Mail in a MEDIUM flat rate box. The tubers are packed with vermiculite and labeled in a bag. These rates may change depending on post office rates.

There are about 30 tubers that fit into a medium flat rate box. This means if you purchase 5 tubers or 25, the shipping will be the same price. If you’d like to purchase more than 30 tubers, additional shipping rates apply.

We do accept large bulk tuber orders at a discounted rate. Please send an email to: littlebitfarmri@gmail.com and we’ll work out a rate and shipping option.

SHIPPING TO MORE THAN ONE ADDRESS:

At this time, Little Bit Farm can only ship to one address per purchase.

PURCHASING TUBERS AND A CSA PACKAGE IN THE SAME CART:

Please purchase your tubers separately from. CSA shares. If you choose to purchase everything in one cart, additional shipping or delivery fees may apply.

RETURNS, CANCELLATIONS & CUSTOMER SERVICE

Our dahlia tubers are packed with care to ensure customer satisfaction and most importantly, to ensure your tubers grow successfully. If there are any issues with your tubers after they arrive, we ask that you notify us within 10 business days. Our tubers are non-refundable 10 days after you receive them in the mail.

We aren’t responsible for shipping costs but are able to reimburse the cost of the tuber(s) purchased if there is damage upon arrival.

Please keep stored in vermiculite and store in a dry cool place (a garage or basement is perfect) until you are ready to plant. We aim to send the tubers to arrive at the optimal/safe time to plant outside. We encourage you to plant as soon as you can.

Please wait to plant until the ground is 60. In Rhode Island, our zone is 6b/7a and we wait until early/mid-May to plant. We are not responsible for poor or wet growing conditions or rodent damage that may cause tuber rot and destruction after planting.

If you choose to cancel your order, you must do so within 30 days of the shipment/pickup date. The cut off date in 2024 is April 4. We appreciate the cooperation as we are a small farm and our inventory might go to waste if you cancel too close to the planting date.

TRACKING YOUR ORDER

You will receive an email notification the day your order has been shipped with a confirmation of shipment and a tracking number.

SALES TAX

We are a small farm and do not charge a sales tax for shipments out of state. If you purchase within the state of Rhode Island, or have your tubers shipped to a Rhode Island address, the sales tax is 7% of the subtotal of tubers purchased.

To customers residing in states other than Rhode Island, please be aware that, if applicable, the taxing authorities in your state may charge you a “use” tax on your out-of-state internet and/or catalog purchases. While it is not the responsibility of littlebitfarmri.com to charge or collect this “use” tax from you at this time, we are alerting our customers regarding this possibility as a courtesy. If you require further information on this issue, we suggest you contact the tax authorities in your state directly.
